Use your Macs to the Max....

Mac App Store II

When the Mac App Store is finally released (which should be within a month or so), you’ll be able to browse for software, just like you do on an iPhone and buy with one click. When an update for that app is available, you’ll know about it. You can download that update simply and it will install without you having to do anything.

We’ll have to wait and see if this is going to be a good way of selling software on a computer. It will only work on Snow Leopard (10.6). Eventually, the Mac App Store will be part of the new Mac OS X system (10.7) called Lion. It might end up being the way we buy software for our computers in the future, but Apple assure us that it won’t be the only way to buy software. You can still order software from companies, and it will still arrive on CD’s or DVD’s (or as downloads). The new Mac App Store might just be the best thing that has happened to the smaller software developers who find it hard to sell their wonderful creations alongside the huge companies’ software. I for one, can’t wait until the App Store arrives.
