Use your Macs to the Max....

Love what you do

Wednesday was the day that Apple announced their new MacBook Air. I was lucky enough to get my hands around one earlier today and if you think it looks good on the web wait until you’re holding it in your hands. It’s very hard to walk out of the store without buying both the 13” and 11” versions.

So back home I happened to see a link on Apple’s home page for Wednesday’s special press event. Watching it I came to realise two things: Firstly, Apple are way ahead of the game when it comes to design. I don’t mean shiny buttons and glossy screens. I mean the way it looks and works and feels and reacts to what you do. You can feel it with an Apple keyboard under your fingertips, or an iPad in your hands. Contrast that feeling to this:

Secondly, I realised just how much the folks at Apple love what they do. Watch the the video on Apple’s site, and pay close attention to the new iMovie demonstration. The guy giving the demo (Randy Ubillos) showing us iMovie, but is talking like a proud parent talks about their child graduating! That’s not something you see everyday in a product demo. As Steve Jobs said on Wednesday “This is why we do what we do”, and I think it shows….
